Your blog was posted on Peace Corps Journals for Uganda. I realize leaving a random post on your blog seems quite stalkerish and creepy, however, I am a future Peace Corps Volunteer headed to Uganda and was reading up on other people's experiences to see what I had gotten myself into. I noticed you play guitar and was wondering if you took a guitar. If you did, how you took it (as a carry-on or as a check piece...) or if you did not, if you wished you would have or if you were able to buy one there.

that's what future peace corps volunteers do - behave in stalker-ish and creepy ways! if you have a guitar, definitely bring it. hopefully i'll be back there soon and we can jam. i brought a little martin (3/4 size guitar) and carried it on. others carried on their full-size guitars without any problem (rishi and chris p). if you bring a full-sized guitar, you might want to print out and bring along as much documentation as possible (from TSA websites or whatever) indicating that you should be allowed to carry it on. you never know who's gonna try to hassle you. good luck!
